What does "MO" mean after the name of a US city?
The state abbreviation (such as MO) is sometimes required because quite often there is more than one city with the same name in the US. There is a "Portland" in Maine and one in Oregon; Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas (same city, but the state line runs across the city), and almost each state has it's own "Springfield".
Valid ESTA for US, but not allowed to check-in Online
It could be a passport number mismatch. You may want to double-check that you've entered the passport number correctly both in ESTA and in the airline's system. @HankyPanky aside from a number mismatch or a communication error, I can't imagine what would allow the ground staff to match the ESTA when the online system could not. First, the HKZHMO bridge is mostly inside Mainland China (which is why vehicles drive on the right on the bridge), but that isn't part of the reasons. While technically inside Mainland China, you're in a kind of no-man's-land. Reason 1 ...

More generally, the number displayed there is the difference between the date of the arrival and the date of the departure in the respective local times of those locations.
